Updated: Feb 19, 2024

Our principal attorney, Ifeoluwa Popoola, was awarded the Young Lawyer Award by the Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. (VLP). When presenting the award, a VLP representative noted:

“Ifeolouwa Popoola has become a dedicated friend of VLP and this year has jumped headfirst into volunteering with our non-detained immigration program. She is currently assisting a family from Sierra Leone to obtain their permanent residency after being granted asylum and is assisting a green-card holder from Jordan to obtain her citizenship. Ifeoluwa was admitted to practice in New York State in 2020, but she is also a licensed solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She has a true passion for service, which is reflected in her career choices, her volunteerism, and her board membership with the Minority Bar Association of WNY and VLP. A young attorney dedicated to equal access to justice, she is a shining example for all. We proudly celebrate her with this year's Young Lawyer Award.”

The VLP is a not-for-profit corporation that provides free civil legal services to low income individuals and small not-for-profit groups in Western New York.

Popoola accepted the award at VLP’s 40th Anniversary and Champions for Justice Bash in late October 2023.
